June, her current Mom, shares this about her:
Sadie has a wonderful temperament, quite mellow and laidback. She loves water and especially to swim. She has not had any formal training yet, but I have taught her to sit, wait for food, and to easily give up things from her mouth. She has a quite reliable recall, and isn't too bad on leash, except when there is something to hunt.
She has a very high prey drive. She easily catches mice, and other rodents around the yard. This is a positive for me.🙂 Unfortunately she has also chased and attacked my chickens and sheep. This was one of my challenges I was worried about before getting her. I have tried taking her into the pens on leash to get her used to them, but she continues to see them as prey. This is the reason why I need to find her another home. She is still young, and I hope still receptive to learning to leave them alone, but it will take a stronger personality than mine.
Sadie also suffers from carsickness, this is why I haven't gotten her out to formal training yet. I have just found a local trainer, only 15 minutes away, and she is going to do an assessment next week, and discuss training options. While I cannot keep her, I will continue to try to give her the best start I can.
Sadie is also scheduled for spaying at the end of August.
It will not be easy to give her to another home, she has wormed her way into my heart, but I believe it is best for both of us.
